A Tuesday In The Life: May 2021

6am: Alarm goes off and I roll out of bed and over to my pumping station. I still pump milk for James twice a day, but working on weaning off of it.

6:30am: After washing pump parts and putting away clean dishes, I sit down to work on my blog for a few minutes.

7am: James is up for the day! He usually wakes up between 6 and 7, and on the very rare day he’ll sleep until 7:30, praise! I am very content with a 7am wake up and it gave me a chance to write my first blog post.

7-8am: Bottle, play time, and breakfast. James had banana pancakes with sunflower butter, strawberry oatmeal, and a pear. Looks pretty, turns into a disaster real quick. I didn’t snap an “after” photo, mealtimes are a scene around here.

8-9am: More playtime and shenanigans, AKA James getting into EVERYTHING.

9-9:40am: We went out for a little neighborhood stroll to get some fresh air before it got too hot. I listened to a sermon from the lead pastor at Lakepointe Church in Dallas, Texas. Josh is so much fun to listen to and always delivers a great message.

9:40-10am: Attempt to sort through and organize some of my clothes while James played which ultimately turned into undoing all of the folding.

10:15-12:15pm: James napped while I prepped lunch, cleaned up the apartment a bit, and worked on my blog and bible study.

12:15pm: James woke up and immediately ate a bottle followed by more play time.

12:45-1:45pm: Time to eat lunch! Josiah came home for lunch today and I made a “hummus plate” for us which consists of staple items like assorted veggies, fruit, naan, hummus, crackers, meat and cheese, and then I usually throw in a few fun items that we have on hand which yesterday looked like donuts and goldfish. Health food for the win! James had PB&J, chicken and dumpling soup and fruit for his lunch, followed by random things from our spread plate when he got bored of his plate.

1:45-2:30pm: I had a follow-up appointment at the oral surgeon from my wisdom tooth surgery last week so my mom kindly left work early to come over and watch James. They had a lot of fun playing together, James loves his Grammy!

3-7:30pm: Our afternoon was filled with a quick shopping trip to get James some shorts and a few other essentials, followed by playtime and dinner, which was copycat Chick-Fil-A sandwiches (I’ll share the super easy recipe sometime) with hashbrowns and a lemon arugula salad. I had a bit of a meltdown after dinner because life just gets the best of me sometimes, which made for a difficult bedtime routine for James, but we managed to get through it.

8pm: I was reluctant to go to Bible study last night, especially after breaking down in tears after dinner, but I’m so glad I went. I cannot say enough good things about this group of women and as usual they completely turned my mood around and came alongside of me in a way that I desperately needed. Praise God for His faithfulness and for showing me His love through the women in this group.

9:30-10pm: Lights out, and that’s a wrap on our long winded Day in the Life recap! Thanks for joining along!
