Happy Tuesday friends! I hope that you all enjoyed the long weekend, and are looking forward to the fact that it is already Tuesday! Josiah and I are going out of town on Thursday with some friends for a long weekend in the Adirondack’s. Two long weekends in a row, we’ll take it!
Josiah has been fighting a bit of a cold, and the weather has been hit or miss all weekend, but we did our best to enjoy it. James is now a full blown walker so when the rain started to fall early Saturday morning and our chances of getting out for a hike were slim to none, we decided to pack up and head to the mall. Bringing a new walker to the mall is quite a scene. James has a one track mind when it comes to walking, and it looks like, “I’m going to get to where I want to go regardless of what everyone else is doing”. The mall was pretty packed on Saturday and it’s safe to say, James was a tripping hazard. Oh well! He had fun exploring the new environment.
Sunday was a little chilly, but we didn’t let that stop us from bundling up and heading out for a walk. James was so warm and cozy he even fell asleep! On Sunday afternoon, grandma kindly agreed to watch James so that Josiah and I could play some frisbee golf with our good friend Lauren. We’ve tried bringing James with us to frisbee golf, it’s not the easiest. So while he got to play and spend time with grandma we were able to complete 18 holes, rain and all!
I’m going to declare Memorial day a Meltdown Monday because between James and I, we weren’t in the best of moods. Josiah was home for the day, but still not feeling the best, so it wasn’t necessarily the parade, boat, grill Memorial day you hope for. We did get out to enjoy the beautiful sunshine as much as possible, and Josiah kindly watched James in the afternoon so that I could get in a quick solo hike to clear my mind.
James happily sifting through (and trying to eat) rocks on the pavement, enjoying playtime in the shade, and then…a meltdown. Cue nap time!
And that’s a wrap on our Memorial Day weekend! Have a lovely Tuesday everyone!
