Fun Facts Friday

For this Friday’s post I thought I would share 5 fun facts about myself. I always enjoy reading fun facts from other bloggers, so here we go!

Fun Fact #1

I am a manatee lover through and through. When I was 10 years old my family went to Disney World and I saw a manatee for the first time. It was love at first sight, so much so that I must have convinced my parents to buy me a stuffed manatee in the gift shop immediately afterwards. I named the manatee Bock after the real one we saw and he’s been my sleeping buddy ever since. The photos below were taken at the Dallas World Aquarium, where Josiah and I spent the majority of our visit enamored by the adorable and very active manatee there!

Fun Fact #2

I have been eating donuts for as long as I can remember. My dad stayed home with my sister and I growing up and one of the perks of having a stay-at-home dad was the all the sweets. There were no veggies and hummus after school, instead every day felt like a celebration with a trip to the local bakery for some after school treats. Donuts were our go-to. Visiting bakeries all across town with my dad and sister is one of my favorite childhood memories, and I’m still in the donut fan club to this day.

Fun Fact #3

The same day that Josiah asked me to start dating him I told a few of my coworkers at Wegmans, “I just want to fall in love and get married all within a year”. That night as Josiah and I was driving home from a movie night at a friend’s house after a very suspenseful conversation he asked me if it would be crazy of him to ask me out. Less than one year later, on a beautiful sunny and warm summer day we were standing at the alter saying “I do”. God is so good.

Fun Fact #4

Pawley’s Island South Carolina is my family’s home away from home. We’ve been renting a beach house on Pawley’s Island every summer since I was one year old (my parents go even further back than that), and it is always a vacation to remember. Over the years it has turned into a semi family reunion, as various family members make the drive from different states to spend a week relaxing on the beach, floating down the creek which feels like a lazy river, and just catching up with each other soaking up the sweet southern sun.

Fun Fact #5

I feel like blogging might be the dream job I never knew existed. I mean, I’m not getting paid and I really haven’t taken a deep dive into the world of blogging, but I am absolutely loving this new hobby of mine! Let’s hope the excitement continues for years to come.

Alrighty! Time to sign off for the weekend. I will be back with a vacation recap next week! Have a great weekend everyone 🙂
